The History of ARHS Mac Dude Productions

A timeline of how ARHS Mac Dude Productions came to be

In The Beginning

In 2000, I heard an ad on the radio that inspired me to turn my dreams into reality. During my freshman year at Burlingame High School, I was bullied. After that school year, I transferred to Riordan High School. During the next 3 years, I earned the nickname "ARHS Mac Dude", which I then used to create my first Gmail account.

2004-2010

After I graduated from Riordan, I then attended Heald College. In 2006, I then transferred to College of San Mateo. In 2008, I met a woman who ended up changing my life. In one of my Digital Media classes, I saw that someone was using a fake business name on their work, so, I decided to create my own fake name for the next project. Later that year, I started working on a tripod site, which I soon realized was a horrible mistake. In 2009, I started working on creating some new beats for a pilot of a game show that never actually got to be made due to creative differences. In 2010, ARHS Mac Dude Productions was put on hiatus.

2013-2016

In 2013, I moved to Berkeley. During that time, I became an intern at Berkeley Community Media. Thanks to Michael Vaughn, I fell in love with TV Studio Production. This was also where I learned all about lighting. In the process, I also found out how BCM is transmitted to Xfinity and AT&T TV. In 2015, I moved back home. During that time, I eventually decided to pursue an A.S.T. degree. Then, in 2016, I ended up taking a TV studio course at De Anza. After that quarter, I went back to CSM.

2017-2020

In 2017, I began working on the very first Double Dare Encyclopedia. After Double Dare 2018 had aired, the project was put on hiatus (due to technical issues). In 2019, I officially decided to focus on turning ARHS Mac Dude Productions into the first Hydrocephalus-Owned Media company. In 2020, we joined KDOG Radio, and started working on producing our own weekly radio show. When we became the station manager over the summer, we discovered that we could get a free radio station, and began testing out KMAC radio. In August, we started working on increasing our social media presence [Facebook, Quora, Reddit, Soundcloud, Spotify, and Google]. In October, work began to build an online presence for HealyFest. During that time, we ended up deciding that making our own site would be better than having KDOG host it for us, which is when we decided to make two new Wix sites, In December, we created a brand new Facebook page for KMAC Radio, and started making the KMAC Radio manual for future employee and volunteers who are going to be using Mixxx to broadcast from home. Due to the end of the semester, Patrick decided to take a break from working on KDOG (12/8/20-1/19/21). Taking a break from doing the live show has given Patrick more flexibility during the statewide lockdown.

2021 and beyond

Beginning in February, we will be having a series of guest DJs on KMAC. Each of the DJs will be auditioning for a more permanent position with KMAC radio. DJ Katia will be the first DJ to audition. More DJs to be announced in December. Beginning in March, we'll be holding several informational sessions via zoom. These sessions will explain all of the rules and regulations regarding the HealyFest. Over the summer, we'll be transitioning our live shows to KMAC Radio. In the fall, we'll be holding several more informational sessions (via zoom). These sessions will explain all of the rules and regulations regarding the HealyFest. Then, in 2022, if events are allowed to happen in San Mateo County, we'll hold a final set of informational sessions via zoom. Once the entry period is over in the spring, our judges will then decide on which videos are going to the HealyFest event in 2022. By then, we should be able to hold a special free screening and decide on who the winners will be. First Place would get a gift card, award, and a chance to make new episodes. Second Place would get a gift card, award, and a chance to make new episodes. Third Place would get a gift card, certificate, and a chance to make new episodes. Please keep in mind that HealyFest is a work in progress, and is subject to change due to Covid!
